Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear launched in India

Samsung's latest device offerings, the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, recently went up for pre-order in India. The company has now starting shipping the devices to users who had pre-ordered the devices from the company’s online store. Multiple buyers reportedly started receiving tracking details of their shipments yesterday, according to BGR.

A quick look at the Note 3 reveals that the phablet comes with a refreshed design, sporting a leather-esque material for the back panel with stitched accents. In terms of specifications, the phablet comes with a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and a pixel density of 386ppi. The Note 3 model being sold in India comes with the company’s improved version of the Exynos 5 Octa chip clocked at 1.9GHz, packing an ARM Cortex-A15 chip as well as a more power-friendly Cortex-A7. It runs the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as well as 3GB of RAM.
In terms of photography, the phablet comes with a 13-megapixel auto focus BSI Sensor, Smart Stabilisation and an LED Flash. The front-facing 2-megapixel BSI sensor can record Full HD videos at 30fps. Connectivity-wise, its comes with support for all the usual suspects like WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and MHL 2.0. The Galaxy Gear, on the other hand, is Samsung’s first step into the wearable category. At launch, the wearable will work with the Galaxy Note 3, but the Galaxy S4, S3 and Note 2 should be getting software updates for support soon. The Galaxy Gear is capable of displaying notifications including incoming messages, calls, texts, emails and alerts. The wearable shows a preview and gives the users the option of either accepting or dismissing them right from the Gear. The smartwatch also packs a 1.9 megapixel shooter on the wristband which works in tandem with the Memographer feature. Check out our hands-on to know more about the wearable. 

Both the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear will officially start rolling out in stores from September 25. While the Galaxy Note 3 was launched in India for Rs 49,900 for the 32GB model, the Galaxy Gear will set users back Rs 22,990.
